Series Land Rovers, Options

Over the years, Land Rover offered a number of dealer options for Land Rovers sold in North America. Among the more popular were free-wheeling hubs, winches, the Canadian made Kodiak heater, and overdrives. This page links to scanned images of a number of advertisements and instructions for some of these options.

Should you have copies of any old promotional material for other Land Rover options, or fitting and operating instructions, xerox copies or scanned images would be greatly appreciated. Much of this material has been lost and few copies continue to exist. Parts listings and diagrams help other enthusiasts keep their equipment functional. Pictures of various options, where any other material is unavailable, would also be very much appreciated. Hubs

There were several types of freewheeling hubs fitted to Land Rovers through the fifties sixties and seventies. One of the most common was the Warn Lock-O-Matic freewheeling hubs.

Winches

There were several different types of winches fitted to Series vehicles through the late 1940's through late 1960's. These included capstan, and mechanical winches. Electric winches did not come into common use until the mid-late 1960s
